Effective date: 26 October 2026
Thank you for trusting me with this special time. These terms explain how I work, so we both know what to expect. By booking with me, you agree to these terms.
1. About me
I am Katherine (Ka) Monge, birth doula, lactation consultant (EduLacta) and perinatal educator, based in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands (KVK 80885756). I offer doula support, birth and postpartum courses, lactation help, online support for families abroad, and faith ceremonies.
2. What a doula does, and what not
I give emotional, physical and practical support, and information so you can make your own choices. I do not give medical care. I don’t do medical checks, give diagnoses or make medical decisions, and I don’t replace your midwife, doctor or hospital team. Always follow the advice of your medical care providers.
As a lactation consultant, I help with feeding questions. If I see something that needs medical attention, I refer you to the right professional.
In an emergency, always call your midwife or 112 first. WhatsApp messages to me are not for emergencies.
3. Booking and payment
- Doula packages (Complete doula support and Birth Support): a deposit of 10% of the total price reserves your place.
- Courses, lactation visits and ceremonies: a deposit of €50 reserves your date.
- Online support for families outside the Netherlands: paid via PayPal.
Doula packages are paid in full by week 38 of your pregnancy, when my on-call period starts. No exceptions. You can pay in parts before that. Just ask me and we make a plan. Courses, visits and ceremonies are paid in full before the session.
All prices include 21% VAT. Travel within my area (The Hague, Rotterdam, Delft, Zoetermeer and around) is included. You can pay by bank transfer (bunq.me/Kamonge), PayPal or cash.
Some insurers pay back part of a birth course. I send you an invoice, but I can’t guarantee what your insurer pays back.
4. Cancellation and rescheduling
4.1 Deposit
Your deposit reserves your place only for you, so it is non-refundable. Please note: Dutch law does not give a 14-day cooling-off period (herroepingsrecht) for services on a fixed date or period, like doula support, courses and visits.
4.2 Doula packages
Please cancel by email. If you cancel, you pay this part of the total price:
- More than 2 months before your due date: only the deposit (10%).
- Between 2 months and 1 month before: 50%.
- Less than 1 month before: 100%, because I have kept my on-call time free only for you.
Anything you paid above this amount, I pay back within 30 days.
If your pregnancy changes and you can no longer use my support (for example for medical reasons), please talk to me. We always look together for a fair solution.
4.3 Rescheduling
You can move a course, visit or ceremony once for free, up to 7 days before. If you or your baby are sick, we always move it for free.
5. On call and birth support
I am on call 24/7 from week 38 until your baby is born. If your birth starts earlier, I will do everything I can to be there. During birth, I stay with you, at home or in hospital, and I always follow the rules of your hospital and midwife.
In the rare case that I cannot come (for example because I am at another birth or I am ill), a trusted backup doula supports you. You can meet her beforehand.
WhatsApp support is included as described in your package. I answer as soon as I can, outside the birth itself and outside emergencies.
6. Birth photos in doula packages
My doula packages include, as a gift and only if you want them, about 80 edited birth photos in an online gallery. During your birth, caring for you always comes first, so I photograph only when I can. A birth video or printed album can be added as an extra. I always respect your intimacy: I never publish intimate birth images, and I can hide your baby’s face. Prefer that I don’t publish your photos or your story, or only with exceptions? Send me an email at info@kamonge.com. The photography terms of Ka Monge Photography apply to these photos (copyright, use and delivery).
7. Online support (Latin America and abroad)
The online support lasts 6 months, from around week 20 until your first 3 weeks with your baby. It includes 1 video call a month, WhatsApp support from Monday to Friday with an answer within 24 hours (Netherlands time), and phone guidance when your labour starts, until you arrive at the hospital. I am not physically present at your birth. Always keep a local midwife or doctor.
8. Faith and ceremonies
I am Christian. If you share my faith, we can pray and bless this time together. If not, I fully respect your path. Ceremonies are always optional.
9. Courses and materials
The audios and materials of my courses are for your personal use. Please don’t share or sell them.
10. Liability
Because my support is non-medical, the medical care and decisions during your pregnancy and birth remain the responsibility of you and your medical care providers. I am not liable for circumstances outside my control, such as illness, natural disasters or hospital rules. If I can’t give the support we agreed, we look for a fair solution together.
11. Privacy
You may share personal and health information with me. I treat it with great care, following the GDPR (AVG). Read how in my Privacy Policy.
12. Law and changes
These terms follow Dutch law. If we ever disagree and cannot solve it together, the court in The Hague decides. I can update these terms. The version valid on the day you book applies to your booking.
